2011 Christmas Reunion

Everyone is married now (except me and Ash) and I am completely okay with it. I have been able to learn a lot from the girls that are married as well as the moms in our group. One thing that we all agreed on is how blessed we are to have such a great group, everyone is still strong in the gospel and living productive lives. Although this year has been tough for many of us, we made it through!

Mom's Sidekick

We always tell mom about how depressed Boomer gets when she leaves but she has never seen it. So I took it upon myself to show her the slow but sure progression of her sidekicks depression. It makes sense, I don't think I know a sidekick that likes being left behind.

This one is for you sisters!

So Jen and Rach like to tease me about the fact that when I was a child I was fascinated by space aliens and science in general. Honestly how could I not when I would watch Star Trek and Star Gate SG-1 with dad all the time? On top of that my sisters and mother all enjoyed watching a little show called "Roswell."

Anyhow, I found these lovely photos on my camera that someone (Rachel) had taken with the fish eye view, so I played around with my photo shop and came up with this.

Jen: "Oh no why is my head bulging? And why is there a creepy light behind me?

"Ahhhhh I'm being sucked up into the creepy light!!!"
Mom: "I don't know Jen, how about I follow you up into that space ship that is shining the light on us."

"Ahhhhh! MY BRAIN!!!!"

Yes folks I am a nerd

WAY TOO LONG

Before I went back to Rochester to visit, and before Eli moved across the country, we had an eventful weekend. The first set of pictures was actually the end of one of our dates but I get a kick out of them so I put them first.

We wrote a story... well he wrote it and I drew the pictures

Marvel at our amazingness!
Can you tell it is the end of a long day? We both look a bit tired but that doesn't change the fact that we are hilarious.

Earlier in the day we fixed a meal with some friends... Yay!

Look at the precision, so lovely I wish I could cut onions that well

Another view

I would be smiling if I were done with the onions too. (Not gonna lie, he has a great smile)

Katie and I pretty much sat the whole time :)

The night before, we went across the street from Eli's house to Mary's and had tinfoil dinners with a large group of awesome people from our singles ward, that says "Alyssa" if you can't read my handwriting, I thought the leaf was a nice touch.

Eli carefully preparing his dinner

I too took the time to think about what to put in my dinner

OOOO tin foil is shiny!

FYI this is my new favorite picture

Forgotten Explorations

So these are some of the forgotten explorations that I had with some of my best friends before leaving Rochester. Enjoy!

So I have had these pictures for a long time and somehow forgot about them. Em, Carly, Desiree and I went in and around Mt. Hope cemetery for some fun. We found this awesome little garden behind a castle... When I saw it I thought of Romeo and Juliet.

"Who" are you afraid of?

Signs point to AWESOME

Back story: Debbie and I kept seeing signs all over Rochester that gave us the bright idea to take pictures next to each of them dressed up in the appropriate style... So for Erin G.'s birthday we decided to knock a few off our list.

#1 Hollywood

#2 Loud

#3 Lollypop Farm

Next time: Greece and Egypt

Fox Creek Quarry

So as you all know I bumped into Mr. Elijah Hopkin back in July, and as a result he has become my best friend therefore earning the title of boyfriend. We were able to take several trips up to Driggs to visit our teacher Kris, and on one trip in particular we took some bread, peanut butter, jam, and my car to a quaint little spot in the woods called Fox Creek Quarry. I wish that I had a camera that actually worked, but for now my ipod will do the job.

Funny thing about the situation is that I really liked him a lot but had not told him yet, and I was so afraid that I would fall flat on my face at any moment because that is something I would do.
